SAM LAWSON
and the naming of a middle school
a book by Wes Morse
On August 25, 2005, Sam H. Lawson Middle School opened its doors to its first 6th and 7th grade students. The school honors Sam Lawson, one of the key architects in the development of the Cupertino Union School District. As its first junior high principal and later as an Assistant Superintendent, Sam had a major role in the opening of new schools and the hiring of faculty and site administration. His life is profiled in a biography that is now available.
